Spring Gardening Giveaway

It's been such a lovely few days here, warm and sunny (which is unusual for this time of the year) and I have been out in the garden for a while this afternoon, watching Mr C cut the grass whilst I had a glass of wine (that's a form of gardening isn't it?) so thought I would do a gardening themed giveaway to say thanks to everyone who follows my blog and also takes the time to leave such nice comments - they are really appreciated :)

Included is a gardening fork, a tortoise called Candy and one of Pascale Garnier's kits - red Iceland Poppies.  To be in with a chance all you have to be is a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post.  I will make the draw on Friday 13 April 2012 (lucky for someone!)

Quirky Items for Lake View

Last September I purchased a wee Highland Cow for Lake View and last week bought one of the Eames elephant stools from Elf Miniatures!   I wanted to include items that would show my Scottish side and my love of Elephants (I also spent time in Africa for a few years) and I wanted items that were 'quirky or different'.  They are not to everyones taste and I'm sure that Mr C thinks I've lost the plot :)  Anyway here's some photos:

Prize Winner!

I won a prize last year at the York Miniature Show in June 2011 - it was run by Warners Group Publications Dolls House & Miniature Scene magazine. I was due to collect it at the November show but couldn't make it.

Yesterday there was a knock on my door and one of my neighbour's was standing there with a parcel for me.  Her mum took the parcel in for me at the beginning of December and whilst her family were there trying to sort things out they found it along with some more parcels for other neighbours.

This was inside and it's delightful:

Poor me!

This is me this morning :(  Mr C is delighted as I've lost my voice!!!  I started with a 'bit of a' sore throat last night and this morning it's so painful I can barely swallow (hopefully might help the weightloss this week).

Mini Flowers

Finally got round to doing some miniature work.  My right wrist and hand are still very painful but I managed :)  Last year at the York Miniature show I bought some Echinacea flowers from Ladies Mile Miniatures.  They have turned out quite well but I do need a new vase and they were difficult to photograph.

This week I also purchased some Forsythia and Pussy Willow from Georgie at The Miniature Garden - excellent service from Georgie.   These were lovely to do and I will certainly be buying some more.  Again I need a new vase and they were difficult to photograph.  All the flowers are going to go in Lake View and as the season changes so will my vases with flowers.
