I have not been well at all for a few days - even had to have a day off work, which I don't do very often. Got some new tablets from the Doctors and don't know whether I had a huge reaction to them or what?! Won't be boring with the details but suffice to say it wasn't pleasant! And fingers crossed I might get a good weight loss this week - which I really need. The fat is going nowhere fast at the moment!

BUT THEN..........................came back from the Doctor's to find mail from Susan at Minicrochetmad - a thank you card, the most delightful memento box and mini mail! I couldn't believe it . It really cheered me up no end. The colour of the box goes beautifully with my bedding (spooky or what?). I can't believe it and I just keep looking at it all. Susan got the tutorial for the box from here. I don't know what to say apart from a huge THANK YOU!

I tried to photograph the memento box and mail on the card Susan sent me. The bed frame is one of my first attempts at shabbying (can't say chic at this stage!) but wanted to show you what I mean about the box matching the bedding. The bedding was bought a few years ago and I have been trying to find out if the person still makes bedding. I think she went by the name of Dawn and Daisy Chain Interiors - if anyone knows would be grateful.

More Practice Part Deux & Dis'n'Dat!

Well, thanks to the darn rain I had some more time to practice making miniatures, whilst hubby painting bathroom (real size one)! I shabbied a candlestick which as you all know comes naturally to me!!! I also finished my little frames which I started a couple of weeks ago but couldn't find the tiny ribbons I had bought for them! It's my age I just keep forgetting where I have put things! Anyway I put my books and pitcher into the lounge and when tucked away into the far corner at a distance they don't look as bad! I also managed to shabby an old bed frame I've got and I will try to photograph that and post the piccies tomorrow night (after all we need a laugh on a Monday night to chase away that Monday feeling).

Anyway my real life bedroom is finished and I have to say looks quite nice and the bathroom is almost finished although that's just temporary until we have decided whether or not to pull the bath out and put in a large shower! Temporary to us though is quite a while! Ha, ha!

I hope work this week is better - think last week was probably one of the lowest points workwise. The department is certainly getting worse each day and to think a year ago we thought it couldn't get any worse. But I am prepared - I have my Rescue Remedy in my bag and the tissues at the ready!

Weightwise not a good week again !! Stayed the same again !! Think it might have had something to do with the takeaway and the vino! Hoping for a better week, although I do know that next Saturday will be a night of a lot of drinking and eating so need to save points for that!

Anyway the darned rain has finally stopped and it looks like it could be a lovely sunset - here's one I prepared earlier!

Making miniatures - more practice!

Well I was inspired by everyone else to make some books and pitchers. However, mine are not so good and I think or hope that 'practice makes perfect' athough I would settle for 'practice makes them better'!!!! On the books I realise there are gaps between the wood and the paper but didn't realise it was that bad until I saw the photos!!! But once on the shelves/tables, etc you might not notice - now where did I put those reading glasses??! The book covers were printables from Carolm and Lize and I am really sorry that I couldn't do your printies justice! The pitchers were courtesy of Marlies . I didn't really have the correct paper, etc so am off to buy some bits and pieces this week and have another go. The pink pitcher looks like one my mother-in-law has and has been painted several times over the years. I also tried to make a pitcher for my witches bedroom!!! I hope you don't all laugh too much! I was also trying to make these in between work and decorating - not a good idea. I have the ideas but I think I should stick to buying rather than making!

I haven't done any more work on Lake View and have come to a bit of a halt. I will need to get myself into gear and get cracking on it - it is still sat on our dining room table. Was going to paint the outside white but think it might be a bit too much so it might be more of a creamy colour, but tomorrow could be another change of mind!

On the weight side - stayed the same! Not surprising as had been naughty! Haven't done any exercising at all this week apart from a bit of walking so must sort that out this week too.

Not done much this weekend apart from helping hubby paint our bedroom - well at least I made cups of tea and cooked the dinner!!!!! It is all finished apart from the curtains to go up and it looks lovely.
