The photo was taken at Christmas hence the tiny Mr & Mrs Claus on the doorstep. You can also see the poppies I made. On the left hand side of the chimney is a pair of black boots (Santa's of course) and Santa's sack - I will need to do new boots for 2010. On the other side is the Santa weather vane. On the top right hand window is a little comical witch figurine loosely based on Bette Midler's character in Hocus Pocus (one of my favourite films). Also outside is a small labrador dog ornament with a slipper in his mouth - hubby bought me this many years ago, not long after we had got our own Labrador dog Sam who we sadly lost 3 years ago, so the ornament is treasured.

I have been so busy at work but I still find myself staring at the wall thinking of 1:12 scale and everything I could be doing at home.
Anyway it's about time I posted a photo of my dolls house. I am so in awe of everyone's talent.
I am still determined to have a go at the shabby chic style which I adore - if I get chance this weekend I will google instructions/tips on this technique. I bought some new furniture for my witches room and would love to try it but daren't!!! Tells self 'Get a grip girl'! I am also still thinking about ideas for the basement and these ideas change on a weekly basis.
Anyway enough of this rambling. I have a lot to do but here goes with the photo of my house.

We've had no snow today so far, although quite a bit yesterday but it's absolutely freezing........brrrrr........... goodness knows what the windchill factor is but certainly won't be getting a tan today!
I know it's a bit late but thought I would post my new Pandora bracelet that hubby bought me for Christmas.
It's one of the new red leather bracelets and I think it's gorgous. I wear it with my silver Pandora bracelet - I have a wonderful pumpkin charm and also moon & stars charm. I do have several other charms but have taken them off for the mo.

Well yet again I haven't managed to post/blog!!!! Work just really gets in the way and it's been a busy week. It was pretty awful going back and you would think at my ripe old age I would know better than to imagine that it's a New Year and it will all be wonderful!!!! Going back to work was like being run over by a steam train! I found myself staring at the wall at work thinking about miniatures and my dolls house and all the wonderful things I could be doing at home instead.
The good news is that I managed to lose 5lbs !!! Couldn't believe it - long way to go but it's a start.
I am not used to blogging yet but just realised that I have two followers and I think I am supposed to say hello and thank you.
So hello to marivigano (http://marivigano.blogspot.com/) and also hello to Tallulah Belle (http://tallulahbelleoriginals.blogspot.com/). Both these blogs are wonderful and certainly putting mine to shame. I really need to get this blogging into gear.

Thought I would just quickly post some photos taken at Bolton Abbey yesterday - New Years Day.
Well it's a New Year - Happy New Year to everyone - I hope it's a good 2010.
I finally stood on the scales this morning - they promptly yelled at me 'Get off' !! I cannot believe how much weight I have put on and then hubby suggests we go for a meal and a drink again tonight - aaarrrgghhh!!
The rebounder has been taken back downstairs ready (mini trampoline) in anticipation - I need to do 30 minutes every day at least and I am sooooo determined (now.........where have I heard that before??) http://www.boogiebounce.co.uk/
I have rejoined Weightwatchers on line.
Hubby and I have taken the Christmas decorations down this morning and the house looks so bare. I have still not taken my miniature decorations down, but am going to have to do so but again my little house is going to look quite empty. The ideas for my basement have already started swimming around though so will need to start work on that soon.
We had a lovely day out yesterday (New Years Day). We went to Bolton Abbey and it was lovely. It was very cold though and so icy in the car park - nearly fell over on the ice trying to shut the car doo! That would have been a sight for sore eyes and would probably have ended up on You Tube!
Bolton Abbey is owned by the Chatsworth Estate and is in the Yorkshire Dales. It is a wonderful day out. At the moment the Abbey is lit up with coloured lights.
